A small list of football tournaments

There are hundreds of professional football tournaments from around the globe but this post will assess a variety of interesting ones.

The largest club football tournament is undoubtably in Europe and it happens each and every year, so watchers always get their fair share of fantastic soccer. Only the best football teams can reach this competition, which is no big surprise considering it's called the Champions League. Teams are not picked out for this competition, they have to qualify, nevertheless this also may differ based on what country the team team is coming from. For example, the English and Spanish leagues both receive four spots in the competition, so the sides that finish 1st, 2nd, third and 4th all gain access to the following event. Clubs from smaller footballing locations such as Ukraine do not get so many spots, sometimes just one or two. The way this procedure is determined is about how much success a countries team teams have in the tournament, so if English clubs did badly in Europe for a very long time, they may lose a spot in the event. One of the most effective teams in the tournament’s historical past is from Italy, although the country has not had an awful lot success of late as it has been controlled by the Spanish teams. The AC Milan owner will hope to turn these fortunes around shortly and have the success the team had in the 90’s once again.

The most seasoned football tournament in the world, which is in fact older than any domestic football league, is the primary cup event in England and Wales. The tournament evidently just consists of English and Welsh clubs, but it is unique in the fact that every single club club in the country can compete in it. The top league teams only join the tournament in what is called the third round, but it is in fact much later than that. It's virtually difficult for any non-professional soccer league teams to win the tournament but there are frequently major upsets which are well known as 'giant killings'. The Arsenal owner has the accolade of owning the club to have won the most FA cups, which stands at 13.

Not all clubs can qualify for the most respected competitions, sometimes just based on their location, but there is one league which contains the teams that finish just below the top teams in the biggest leagues. The quality in this league is still very high, especially as a number of the teams that do not make it out of the top tournament groups then enter this second tournament. There are so many clubs competing in the cup that most folks would not have heard of as they come from fairly obscure nations, in sporting terms at least, but the diversity of football leagues involved is one of the distinct features of the competition. The FK QarabaÄŸ owner controls a club that lots of people would not have heard of, yet it's interestingly competitive.
